Volunteer with KTIF

Our model is elegant in its simplicity: tutors help kids, Karma pays tutors. It’s a tight system of niche service that allows us to maximize our impact. The downside is that it can be difficult to find opportunities for volunteers.

But when we reflect on our first five years, it’s not lost on us that we’ve benefitted from the generosity of volunteers along the way—people who believed in our mission and lent us their talent, or their wisdom, or both. So, we’ve gone ahead and jotted down some ideas of things that we’re always looking for: the services that, when we don’t have a surplus of students to serve, are at the top of our shopping list. If you like what we do and want to be a part of it, we’re grateful for whatever you bring!

  • We always need help conducting outreach and illustrating our impact. Are you a professional photographer? A graphic designer? A social media expert? If you have a skill that could help spread the word about KTIF, we’d love to hear from you.

  • We are constantly growing, so we love getting guidance on how to do that effectively and efficiently. Are you a nonprofit consultant? A curriculum designer? An expert fundraiser? A lawyer? If you like what we do and you see a fit, let us know.

  • Behind every great KTIF tutor is a dedicated, passionate, and really busy team of administrators. Bookkeeping, tax expertise, SEO, automation skills—you name it, our Executive Director will thank you for it.

  • The best way to lend a hand is sometimes one we haven’t thought of (yet). These lists are to inspire ideas, but they are by no means exhaustive. If you are passionate about what you do and you want to be a part of what we do, let’s talk.
